Our Wedding!
Once upon a time…. Well. You know the story. Guy meets girl in a bar. Girl is dating someone else. Guy charms girl anyway. Guy and girl have a fake engagement for april fool’s day. They fall in love. Have a real engagement. The real engagement leads to the real wedding, and here we are folks!
The day started out beautiful. It had rained for 2 days before and we were worried that the ground would be too wet, but it was perfect. The night before, I had the brilliant idea to do little treat box name placement boxes, whatever the actual name of them is. Anyways. Katie (my cousin and maid of honor) spent the entire day writing names on boxes. Hindsight, it was terrible and I should have just enjoyed my day.
So about 45 minutes before the wedding is when I started getting ready. Now, I don’t advise this. For anyone. You would think of all the weddings I’ve been to, I would know better. Some people just don’t learn. So Candice curled my hair and then started my makeup. While she was doing my makeup, I was pinning my own hair up in an updo to save time. I also did not give my bridesmaids enough time to get ready, and seriously thank God for my friend Emily, who came with tools and did hair for my bridesmaids. Seriously, everyone should have friends like that. That know you are a total spaz and didn’t plan accordingly, so they do it for you. Yeah. Get you a friend like Emily.

So after getting ready, it’s the typical get everyone organized, which my Aunt Katherine did very well. The guys all were great. Tipsy, but great! We had beautiful Vitamin String Quartet playing as guests entered, and my Nan got to walk down the aisle to the String Quartet version of Forgot About Dre, which, I unfortunately, did not get to witness but heard great things. And then my daddy walked me down the aisle and in a few quick minutes, we were married! (It was BLOODY HOT outside and we kept the ceremony short.)

The wedding went smoothly! Then it was time for the reception. I don’t have a lot of pictures from that, we had a few hiccups, it was a really fun night and we stayed up dancing til 11! The Silver Bullets are friends of mine, and did us a huge favor and played at our wedding. I have to say my favorite part was having the band there. I just love music and it was my favorite part of the night. My dad and I danced to Tom Petty “Wildflower” and Kane and I danced to The Beatles “In my Life”.

All in all, the day was amazing. I took some great advice I had received, and enjoyed the day. Some one told me that even though it is a very special day, it is still just a day and it will go by so fast, so don’t forget to eat the food, drink the drinks and dance the night away. And I did that, and I have no regrets. I walked around and talked to people, I sat and ate, I danced and I had an amazing day. We didn’t even do a bouquet toss, garter toss, none of those things. Just had a nice, simple, no stress day. It was exactly how I wanted it to be.
